James R. (Slats) Warman
James R. (Slats) Warman, 81, of Waynesburg, Pa, died Sunday, February 2, 2003 at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army in the South Pacific. He was active in the American Legion, a member of the Waynesburg V.F.W. 4793, the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 461 and a member of U.M.W.A. Local 1570, District 31.
He was a member of the Jefferson United Methodist Church and the Singing Churchmen.
Surviving is his wife Marjorie L. Fonner Warman whom he married December 29, 1977; a daughter from his previous marriage, Lynne Hart of Waynesburg and two grandchildren, Casey A. Hart and Molly Hart; two stepsons, Charles A. Stewart and Kevin L. Stewart, both of Waynesburg; five step-grandchildren, Nick, Heather, Josh Stewart, Jennifer Teagarden and Vanissa Cole; one niece Bonnie Lee Ward; one grandniece, Melissa Ward and one great-grandnephew Matt Ward.
Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 182 West High St., Waynesburg, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
