Ralph C. Beerbower, 85, of Pine Shores Circle, New Smyrna Beach, Florida, died Saturday, February 1, 2003 in the Bert Fish Medical Center, New Smyrna Beach, Florida. He was born in Star Junction, Pa.

He was retired as General Superintendent Frick District, U.S. Steel Corp. He was a member of the American Institute of Mining Engineers, King Coal Association, Professional Engineers of West Virginia, President of Fayette County and Westmoreland County Boy Scouts of America. He was a member, Deacon and choir member of First Baptist church of New Smyrna Beach and was a 1948 graduate of Penn State University. He was a United States Army veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marnie; three sons, Ralph M. of Charlotte, North Carolina, David A. of Chesterfield, Missouri and Scott W. Fishers of Indiana; two daughters, Laura B. Wittkamper of La Grange, Ill. and Wendy L. Beerbower of Mendham, N.J.; a sister Rachel Cover of Raleigh, N.C. and nine grandchildren.

The Settle-Wilder Funeral Home of New Smyrna Beach, Florida is in charge of arrangements.
