Johannah M. Cook
Johannah M. (Laub) Cook, 88, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003, in the Beverly Health Care Nursing Home. She was born Aug. 11, 1914, in Mt. Sterling, Pa., a daughter of the late Henry and Lena (Slopnicker) Laub.
In addition to her parents, Johannah was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred H. Cook Sr.; and two brothers, Henrich and Arthur Laub.
Johannah was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was also a member of The Circle Club and The Hutchinson Sportsmen’s Club. She also enjoyed sewing.
She is survived by her children: Alfred H. Cook Jr., and wife Marsha of Beaver, W.Va., Nancy Frost of Grindstone, Pa., and Richard Cook and wife, Diana of Hopwood, Pa.; seven grandchildren, Darrell Frost of Republic, Pa., Debra Coddington of Fredericksburg, Va., Darren Frost of Stafford, Va., Melissa Cook and Christina Cook, both of Hopwood, Alfred H. Cook III and Gina Faddis; many great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., AT SYLVAN HEIGHTS CEMETERY, A Dignity Memorial Provider, 603 North Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Thursday until 11 a.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. Paul N. Frank officiating, in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown.
