John R. Mansberry
John R. Mansberry, 57, of Brownfield, Pa., died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003, at home. He was born May 1, 1945, in Uniontown, Pa., son of the late David L. Mansberry and Anna Mae Fisher Mansberry.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Glenda Mansberry.
Surviving are his wife, Janet Showalter Mansberry; three children, Judy Yanik and her husband, James of Uniontown, Pa., and Jill Mansberry and Jonica Mansberry, both at home; three grandchildren, Felicia Mansberry and Jimmy and Jaynel Yanik; two sisters, Margaret Mansberry of Brownfield and Lou Ella Miner of Coolspring, Pa.; five brothers, David Mansberry and his wife, Lee Etta, Foster Mansberry and his wife, Sandra and Robert Mansberry, all of Brownfield, Glenn Mansberry of Hopwood-Fairchance Road, and Gary Mansberry and his wife, Sandra of Little Brownfield; and several nieces and nephews.
John was retired from Cumberland Coal Mine and enjoyed hunting, gardening, yard work, TV cooking shows and sci-fi shows. He could fix anything from water faucets to cars. His favorite expression, “It won’t take long” was heard with each job.
The family will receive friends in the GOLDSBORO-TOMI FUNERAL HOME, 21 East Church St., Fairchance, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Friday, Feb. 7, 2003, until 10 a.m., the hour of service, with Mervin Showalter officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park, Brownfield, Pa.
