Betty D. Otanic, 75, of Brownsville, Pa., died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003, in Winter Park, Fla.

She was born July 19, 1927, in Brownsville, Pa., the daughter of the late John and Ora Bigelow Dearth.

She was a member of the First Christian Church of Brownsville, Pa., and was retired after 30 years of service with the Fayette County Redevelopment Authority.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hughey L. Otanic; a brother, John Dearth; and a sister, Margaret Pawlak.

Surviving are three children, Gary Leebrick and his wife, Marlene of Yaxley, England, Pamela Knaresboro and her husband, Robert of Oviedo, Fla., and Debbie Otanic of Brownsville, Pa.; a sister, Virginia Knox of South Dayton, Fla.; three grandchildren, Emma Ager and Alyson and Conner Knaresboro; and a great-granddaughter, Isobel Ager.

Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park St., Brownsville, Pa., today from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. Conway Keibler officiating. Interment will be in LaFayette Memorial Park.
