Today through next week ABUNDANT LIFE CHURCH, located at South Union Fire Hall near the corner of Lebanon and South Mount Vernon avenues, Uniontown, will celebrate Communion at 10:45 a.m. worship Sunday. ASBURY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, corner of Beeson Avenue and Dunbar Street in Uniontown, announces the Rev. James Fogg will lead praise choruses and hymns, accompanied by Jim Hutchinson, at Sunday’s 9 a.m. casual service. Rev. Fogg will give the message “Why He Came.’ The traditional 11 a.m. service includes Rev. Jim’s message and special music by the Asbury Chancel Choir, directed by Bill Dreucci, and Hutchinson on organ. Loving Nursery Care is available for infants and children under 4. Children’s church is available for all children age 4 and older.

A Heartfelt Luncheon will be held immediately following the 11 a.m. service to benefit the Ward Home. Menu is ham and barley soup, hot Italian hoagies, dessert and beverages. The cost is to bring an item for the Ward Home foster care program. Items needed are new or gently used dishes, small appliances, baby items, dish cloths, linens, towels and cleaning supplies or a teddy bear, which they present each youth as they arrive.

The Asbury Chancel Choir will rehearse from 12:15 to 1 p.m. in the choir rehearsal room. Those singers wishing to join the choir are welcome. The Asbury United Methodist Fellowship will meet from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and is open to all youths in grades six through 12. Terrific Thursday Plus continues Feb. 13 at 5 p.m. with a program by Pat Mowen, prevention educator for the Crime Victims Center, about recognizing signs of abuse in children and what to do to help for the adults and the Bible Zone lesson and craft and choir for children. Dinner is served to all. The program concludes at 7 p.m.

This is a change in dates. The series will answer questions such as Who is Mary? How does the Church understand her role in salvation? What does the Bible tell us about her? CATHOLIC YOUTH ASSOCIATION OF PITTSBURGH’S CAMP R is preparing for its 63rd anniversary this summer. The co-ed residential camp is located in Laurel Hill State Park. The camping season begins July 6 and ends Aug. 15. Call 412-621-3342 for a brochure. Camp R is an accredited camp of the American Camping Association.

TOURS PLANNED: A tour to France, including Paris and Lisieux, is scheduled for the Lenten season, March 10-17. An extensive tour of France will be held April 21-May 2 with the Rev. Ed McCullough as spiritual director. A tour of Italy is offered May 19-28 that includes a papal audience. A tour to Italy Oct. 12-21 will include attending the beatification of Mother Teresa of Calcutta. Space is limited for all trips.
