Woman arrested
Fayette County Sheriff Gary Brownfield arrested Darlene Dennis of 71 Pershing Court, Uniontown, on a bad check charge Thursday. The charge stemmed from a check Dennis allegedly wrote to Wal-Mart in South Union Township. According to the warrant, the citation against Dennis was filed Nov. 9, 1998. It was reissued in 1999 when Dennis stopped making payments. She owes a total of $161.46, according to information on the warrant.

Sexual assault reported
State police in Belle Vernon are investigating a reported sexual assault behind the Sav-A-Lot store Wednesday night. A 31-year-old woman from Brownsville told police she was not able to see the face of a man who grabbed her from behind when she was getting into her vehicle after she was done shopping at 8:20 p.m. She said he forced her behind the store and sexually assaulted her. She went to Brownsville General Hospital for treatment after the attack, police said. The suspect was described as 6-feet-1 or 6-feet-2-inches tall, 230 to 240 pounds, muscular build, dark shoulder length hair and in his 30s. Police ask anybody with information about the incident to call the station.

Martha Murphy, no age given, told city police that someone shot a BB through a front window on her 42 Lenox St. home Thursday. She discovered the damage at 1:30 a.m., police said.

Retail theft
A 6-foot, 5-inch-tall white male weighing about 250 pounds who has a tattoo on the back of his neck stole approximately $3 worth of merchandise from the Midtown Foodland at 7:10 p.m. Wednesday, city police said. The store manager said he asked the man to stop, but he left in a blue Buick Somerset bearing Pennsylvania registration DWT-7019, police said.

June Nelson told city police that she found the rear screen door on her 85 Connellsville St. home cut at 7:42 p.m. Wednesday, police said.

Water company workers were summoned to repair a broken water line on Connellsville Street at 8:50 p.m. Wednesday.

Vehicle accident
James Wargha, 42, of Marianna struck a dirt embankment along Martindale Road and rolled over at 10:48 a.m. Monday, state police said. No injuries were reported.

The report includes one trespass report, one landlord-tenant dispute, one retail theft, two abandoned vehicles, one counterfeit money report, five juvenile complaints, two 911 hang-up calls, nine domestic disputes with two arrests, two stolen vehicles with two arrests, four thefts, one warrant arrest, two missing persons, two alarms, five community service details, five parking or traffic complaints with one citation issued, one mental health commitment, 11 escorts, three items of recovered property, five suspicious activities or persons complaints, 18 traffic details, two harassment by communication reports, four animal complaints, seven criminal mischief complaints, three motorist assists, one public drunkenness complaint, 10 harassment complaints with three arrests, 10 assists to other agencies, 13 disturbances with three arrests, six accidents and 16 miscellaneous complaints. Property lost or stolen was valued at $6,940 and recovered property was valued at $9,350.
