Pete Krivosky

Pete Krivosky, age 81, of Carmichaels, Pa., died at 7:15 p.m. on Friday, February 7, 2003 in Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg, Pa. He was born December 18, 1921 in York Run, Fayette County, Pa., a son of Mike Krivosky and Mary Zaucha Krivosky.

Mr. Krivosky was a 1940 graduate of the former Cumberland Township High School and resided in Cumberland Township most of his life.

During World War II he served in the United States Army Air Corps.

In 1985 Mr. Krivosky retired from LTV’s Nemacolin Mine after 43 years of service.

Mr. Krivosky was a member of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church in Carmichaels, United Mine Workers of America Nemacolin Local 6290, Fort Mason American Legion Post 423 in Masontown, Pa., Disabled American Veterans Chapter 123, the Carmichaels Senior Center, and Moose Lodge No. 819 in Carmichaels.

In addition, he was a social member of John F. Kennedy Memorial Council of The Knights of Columbus, Carmichaels.

His wife, Sophie Popovich Krivosky, whom he married on April 20, 1944, survives.

Also surviving are two daughters: Rosemary Lewis and her husband, Dick, of Clarion, Pa., and Judi Shimrock and her husband, Pete, of Vermilion, Ohio; six grandchildren: Michele Carroll, Michael Lewis, Danielle Hoebing, Peter Shimrock, Christina Shimrock and Brandi Shimrock; four great grandchildren: Derek Hoebing, Mikayla Carroll, Macey Carroll and Hailey Shimrock; a sister, Sophia Angelini of Carmichaels; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Nick Krivosky, two sisters, Mildred Kattalia and Anne Milak, and his parents.

Friends will be received at the YOSKOVICH FUNERAL HOME, Martin J. Yoskovich, Funeral Director, 300 South Vine Street, Route 88, Carmichaels, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. where Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 10, at 11 a.m. Rev. Father Rodney Torbic will officiate.

Interment will follow at Greene County Memorial Park where Full Military Honors will be accorded by American Legion Post 423.

Pomen Service will be held in the Funeral Home today at 2 p.m.
