Purse stolen
A purse containing about $500 in property owned by Maryann Kraynak, 40, of Connellsville was stolen from the borough fire hall at 2:10 a.m. Sunday, state police in Belle Vernon said.

Charges filed
Harassment and criminal mischief charges were filed against Randy McClelland, 19, of Leckrone for allegedly pushing Heather David, 18, of Smithfield and smashing the windshield on a car owned by Melvin David, 60, of Smithfield at 10:45 p.m. Friday at a residence along Leckrone-Highhouse Road, state police in Uniontown said.

A harassment citation was filed against William Lewis of Connellsville for allegedly grabbing Diane Lewis of Dunbar by the wrists during an argument at 8 p.m. Friday along Main Street in Juniataville, state police said.

State police said all four tires on Angela Renee Landman’s car were slashed outside of her Frick Street residence in Hiller between 8:30 and 10 p.m. Feb. 5.

Car accident
Thomas Lee Armstrong, 38, of Addison suffered a minor injury Sunday when he swerved to avoid a deer on Route 40 at Henry Clay Villa, hit a ditch and went airborn before stopping between a utility pole and a tree at 10:50 p.m., state police said.

Marijuana found
State police said charges are pending against a 19-year-old man from Connellsville who was found in possession of marijuana in an alley 100 feet north of Graham Avenue at 2:04 a.m. Monday.

Hit-and-run probed
An unknown vehicle struck one vehicle and pushed it into another vehicle in the Locker Room Lounge lot at 12:35 a.m. Sunday, state police said.

A Lake Lynn man struck a utility pole along Morgantown Road at 11:25 p.m. Friday and fled the scene, state police said.

Monthly report
State police in Washington received reports of 1,156 offenses in January, according to Capt. Roger N. Waters’ monthly report. Police said 1,131 of the offenses were founded, 602 were cleared and 647 arrests were made. There were 17 arson investigations, 52 vehicles were recovered and the value of recovered property, including vehicles was $345,312. Patrol activity included 951 accidents, 63 hit-and-run accidents, 5 fatalities, 242 injured, 2,339 traffic citations, 1,057 warnings, 130 driving under the influence arrests, 472 motorist assists, 2,239 other incidents and 4,818 total incidents.

Police have filed charges against the following individuals in unrelated cases:
Karen Jean Cooper, 39, of Timber Ridge Apartments, New Stanton, and Carissa Ann Brandonio, 27, of 550 Briar Hill Road, Greensburg, for public drunkenness after they were allegedly found in an intoxicated condition and creating a disturbance along North Prospect Street on Jan. 31.
Michael D. Reese, 21, of 2019 First St., South Connellsville, for retail theft after he allegedly attempted to take five movies from Hollywood Video without paying for them on Feb. 4.
Londo C. Farmer, 38, of 58 Gibson Terrace, for theft by deception after he allegedly sold a television he did not own to Fast Cash of Connellsville on Jan. 24.
Angelo J. Piccioni, 20, of 114 Highway Supply Road, Dunbar, for underage drinking, careless driving and driving under the influence of alcohol after he was allegedly found in an intoxicated condition following a traffic accident on Feb. 1.

Police cited four juveniles after they were allegedly found violating the borough’s 9:30 p.m. curfew on Feb. 8.
The four will appear before District Justice Michael Rubish at a later date.

City police reported that they tagged three vehicles Sunday with 48-hour dead storage notices. Police said the first vehicle, a black truck with a license plate number of PUB-2200, with no registration, was tagged at Walnut and Gallatin Avenue. The second vehicle, a gray Buick Regal, with a license plate number of EDH-04980, with an expired registration, was tagged on Church and South streets and the third vehicle, no description given, with a license plate number of I-Rosie, was tagged at 200 Lenox St., with an expired registration.

Man stabbed
Jamaal Fairfax, no age or address given, told police that he was stabbed with a steak knife Saturday afternoon. According to police, Fairfax refused medical treatment.

Cigarettes taken
City police are investigating the Saturday theft of eight cartons of cigarettes from Citgo Gas Station, 88 N. Gallatin Ave. Police said a tall, thin black man, weighing about 150 pounds, took the cigarettes, valued at $36 a carton, and left the store in a teal green Ford Escort, license plate number EGK-4141.

Larry Rhodes, 25, of Wilson Avenue, West Brownsville, was cited for disorderly conduct by California police after he allegedly punched Jason Toth, 25, of California in the face on Saturday inside J. Cole’s Inn on Second Street.

Woman cited
Nicole Rae Scirotto, 24, of Belle Vernon was cited for disorderly conduct after police found her chasing a woman with a beer bottle down Second Street at 1:59 a.m. Saturday. Police said Scirotto was treated at Brownsville Hospital for injuries to her nose received after she was struck by friends of the woman she was chasing. Additional charges are pending interviews with those three women. Nine units responded to the incident.

Student cited
California Borough police cited a 17-year-old California Area High School student on Thursday for terroristic threats and disorderly conduct after he allegedly threatened to bomb the school and kill everyone in it during class. Police said the boy also threatened his teacher. They said the student was suspended from school.

Mailboxes damaged
John Donkers of California told police that someone damaged three of his mailboxes located at Third and Wood streets on Jan. 1, 2002, and then two consecutive weekends in February. Police said they will make extra patrols in the area.

Paul Trosky, 23, of California was cited for disorderly conduct and public drunkenness by California police after he allegedly caused a commotion at McMonagles Bar at 12:47 a.m. Feb. 4.

Jessica Myers, 20, of Liberty Street told police that someone removed her windshield wiper blade from her vehilce while it was parked on Liberty Street between 9 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. Monday.

Man cited
Police cited Paul Lehman, 21, of California with criminal trespass, disorderly conduct and harassment after responding to a fight at 728 High St. involving 10 to 20 people on Jan. 31 at 11:55 p.m. Accoring to police, Lehman allegedly threatened people and spit in someone’s face there.

Power outage
About 8,000 Allegheny Power customers from Charleroi to Searights were without power for part of Sunday.
Allegheny Power spokesman Guy Fletcher said a line on a transmission tower near California Area High School came down around 11 a.m.
“It was a static line, which is a line that doesn’t carry any power. It hit an energized line and caused outages at five substations in the area,” Fletcher said.
Power was restored to most of the customers within two hours, though Fletcher said some customers remained without service as late as 6 p.m.
Fletcher said the final 1,500 customers were brought back on line in small groups throughout the day.

Three cars crash
State police said vehicles operated by Amy Myers, 20, of Hibbs, Monty Birt, 50, of Lemont Furnace and Donna Novak, 43, of East Millsboro crashed along New Salem Road Jan. 30 at 3:12 p.m.
Renee Hartley, 41, of Lemont Furnace, a passenger in Birt’s vehicle, sustained minor injuries police said.

State police said that a resident of 455 Nilan Hill Road received terroristic threats via e-mail Jan. 10 at 8 p.m.
