Hit-and-run probed
State police in Uniontown said a maroon late 70s model Buick LeSabre driven by a white male in his 40s crossed the center line on Leckrone-Highhouse Road traveling north near the post office and struck an oncoming vehicle in the southbound lane driven by John Michael Bokat with two passengers at 5:09 p.m. Monday.
No injuries were reported, but the left front of the LeSabre had minor damage.

Car struck
An older model Dodge pickup truck with a white cab driven by a while male in his 60s with graying hair backed up and struck a parked car owned by Rose Bodnar of Uniontown in the Fayette Plaza lot at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 5, state police said.
The truck was last seen traveling south on Route 51.

Car rolls
Steven Wayne Gray of Charleroi suffered minor leg injuries Monday night when his vehicle slid on the icy Route 40, struck an embankment and rolled on to its roof in front of the Triple Nickel Bar at 7:45 p.m., state police said. He was treated at Brownsville General Hospital.

Camcorder stolen
Someone entered Sandy Torbich’s vehicle on Mullen Street and stole a camcorder between 1 and 7:30 a.m. Monday, state police said.

Car damaged
State police said someone broke a window on a car owned by Kathleen Cummings of Smithfield around 10:15 p.m. Sunday and pried open the driver’s door at her home.

Somebody stole a cell phone owned by Chad Alan Leichliter, 21, of Uniontown from the Best For Less gas station on Feb. 7, state police said.

Police car accident
State police Cpl. D.V. Giddens of Pittsburgh was not injured early Monday when he struck a deer on a state road at 3:05 a.m., state police in Belle Vernon said. His patrol car had minor damage.

Delarae Kronick of 1318 Water St., Brownsville, told police that someone smashed the windows in her garage. The incident was reported Sunday at 5 p.m.

Tameka Blakey of 56 Cemetery Road, Brownsville, told police someone broke into her home while she was out of town. Taken from the residence were a DVD home theater valued at $148, a microwave oven worth $120, a 19-inch color television worth $149 and a Sony Play Station 2 worth $199.

DUI
Brownsville police cited Steve Noga Jr., 53, of 138 First St., Allison, with driving under the influence following an incident Feb. 5 in which Noga got his vehicle stuck in mud at Broadway and Glenn Lane.

Retail theft
A clerk at the A-Plus mini mart in Brownsville told police a man took items from the store and left without paying around 1:18 a.m. on Feb. 5. Police found two men in a car matching the description given by the clerk a short while later. The passenger was found with items valued at $104.60, including 44 Slim Jims, 36 Slim Jim beef jerky strips, four boxes of frozen pizza rolls and 10 Snickers ice cream bars.
The driver was found in possession of four Slim Jims and two packs of Eclipse gum, with a retail value of $5.54. The incident remains under investigation, with no charges filed at this time.
Another retail theft at the store on Feb. 1 is also under investigation.

Shawnette Shaw of 338 Union St., Brownsville, told police that she lost her Audiovox cell phone at the Elks Club on Brownsville Avenue Sunday, Feb. 2. The phone is valued at $200.

No one was injured in a three-vehicle accident Monday at the intersection of Market and Fifth in Brownsville.
There was light damage to a vehicle driven by Richard Wilson, 39, of Allenport, severe damage to a car driven by Shannon Rae Wilson, 19, of Smithfield and unspecified damage to a vehicle driven by Kenneth Carney, 45, of Brownsville.

City police arrested Marques A. Curry of 44 Varndale St. on Monday and charged him with possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana and fleeing or attempting to elude police.

City police said a one-vehicle accident on East Main Street near Cleveland Avenue Tuesday sent Renee Randolph, no age or address given, to the Uniontown Hospital for treatment. Police said the driver, Ivy Kitchen, was uninjured in the 1:37 a.m. crash.

State police said someone stole a Graco child safety seat owned by Tammy Showman, 18, of Scottdale from her vehicle outside her Regina Street residence Tuesday between 4:30 and 9:15 a.m.
