Lois Rogerson
Lois “Pinky” Bixler Rogerson, 83, a longtime resident of Lake Lynn, Pa., died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003. Born at Cheat Haven, Pa., on Sept. 9, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Jackson V. and Pearl Blosser Bixler.
She was a faithful and lifelong member of the Lake Lynn Community Chapel, and was well known in the community for her seamstress skills. She had worked as a clerk for 18 years at Sisler’s Market in Lake Lynn, and later worked for the Ben Franklin 5 & 10 in Johnstown, and for Ted Petro’s Kitchen Interiors in Hopwood.
Surviving are her husband of 62 years, Harry A. “Bud” Rogerson, whom she married on June 25, 1940; a brother, Elmer “Carty” Bixler of Lake Lynn; a sister, Frances “Dutty” Wolfe of Lake Lynn, who had cared for her the last several months; and by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph I. And John H. Bixler; and a sister, Mildred Greathouse.
Friends will be received in the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion, Pa., today from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Thursday until 11:30 a.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. Reba Thurmond officiating. Private interment follows in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Albert Gallatin Hospice, 10 Highland Park Dr., Uniontown, PA 15401.
