Anna E. Voorp
Anna E. Voorp, 87, of Brownsville, Pa., passed away on Monday, Feb. 17, 2003, in Brownsville General Hospital.
She was born Dec. 28, 1915, in Brier Hill, Pa., daughter of the late Stanley and Tillie Gazda Szubra.
She was a member of the Historic Church of St. Peter’s of Brownsville, Pa., and the Rosa Garibaldi Lodge No. 1818 of Brownsville, Pa.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Voorp; brothers, George, Edward and Stanley Szubra; and sisters, Sophia Parker, Pauline Sedinger and Frances Orr.
She is survived by her daughters, Louise Stanislaw of Fairbank, Pa., Tillie Voorp of Brownsville, Pa., and Anna Gadd and dear friend, Nick Capo of Brownsville, Pa. Other loving family members include granddaughters, Lisa and Julie Stanislaw; three grandsons, John Stanislaw and wife, Mary Beth and great-grandson, Justin, Charles Gadd and wife, Starla, and Thomas Gadd and Annette Adam and great-grandson, Adam Gadd; a godson, Richard Ricco Sr.; a sister, Mary Smith of Queens, N.Y.; and sister-in-law, Marie Yeardie; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park St., Brownsville, Pa., today from 1 to 9 p.m., where a prayer service will be held on Thursday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m., in the Historic Church of St. Peter’s of Brownsville, Pa., with the Rev. Fr. Vincent Gigliotti as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Rosa Garabaldi Lodge will have services today at 3 p.m., and the Catholic Daughters of Americas court No. 1141 will recite the Rosary today at 3:30 p.m.
