Harassment charge filed
Russell E. Angelo, 46, of Smithfield was arrested Sunday by state police at Uniontown and taken to the Fayette County Prison. He was arraigned on harassment charges Feb. 18 for allegedly threatening a Connellsville juvenile with bodily harm. Police said Angelo is on parole for a prior criminal conviction.

Drunk driving
State police said William Joseph McDonough, 37, of Smithfield was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol Jan. 25 after a police stop on Route 119. The charges were filed at District Justice Randy S. Abraham’s Fairchance office.

Criminal mischief
State police at Uniontown said someone spay painted the rear of the Goodwill building at 1003 Mall Run Road sometime between Feb. 15 and 18.

One-vehicle crash
State police said Brian Welch of Smithfield lost control of his vehicle Sunday while traveling on Route 857 along Morgantown Road, struck a mailbox and a utility pole, and left the scene without notifying police.

Mary A. McChesney, 23, of Waynesburg and Ira W. Davis, 68, of Uniontown told state police that someone broke into their vehicles Tuesday and took a CD player, amplifier and CDs while they were parked at Teletech.

Fraud
State police at Greensburg said they are looking for the person who made unauthorized purchases Feb. 5 with the charge account number belonging to Sony Electronics Inc., 1001 Technology Drive. On Feb. 5.

Graffiti damage
City police are investigating several complaints that someone spray painted graffiti on a number of buildings that caused hundreds of dollars in damage.
Lance Rabatin of 200 Askren Street told police that someone spray painted graffiti on the rear door of his building. Michael Polito Sr. said someone spray painted graffiti on his building at 201 Bailey Ave and did about $200 in damage.; Virginia Rockwell of 67 E. Kerr Street said someone spray painted her garage door, twice. Christy Fusco said that someone spray painted graffiti on the Jefferson Street Public Library.

Cigarettes stolen
Bob Bevard of the A Plus Mini Market told police Tuesday that a customer took a pack of cigarettes from the store without paying for them.

Donald Lynch Sr. of 59 Rear Lenox St. told police that his son was struck on the back of the head Tuesday while walking home from a friend’s house by an unknown man.

Checkbook stolen
Mark A. Evans of South Street told police that someone he gave a ride to a couple of weeks ago took a checkbook from his vehicle and wrote and cashed a check for $548.

Man charged
According to state police, Melvin Moore, 64, of East Millsboro was charged with violating a protection from abuse order filed by Edna Moore, 59, of East Millsboro. Police said Melvin Moore allegedly kicked in the woman’s door and made threats at 4:30 p.m. Sunday. He was arraigned and placed in the Fayette County Prison in lieu of $3,000 bail, said police.

Property damaged
State police said someone set fire to property owned by Georgiann Yoders and James Leech, both of Grindstone, after breaking into their 31 Taylor Flats Road residence Friday.

Vehicles collide
State police said no one was injured when vehicles operated by Michael Troilo, 35, of Monessen, David Stoner, 25, of West Newton and Robert Bennett, 32, of Belle Vernon collided at the intersection of Route 51 and a legislative route at 6:14 a.m. Wednesday.

Kimberly Shultz of Point Marion told state police someone used her credit card without permission Tuesday.

State police said Jody Miller, 22, of Mount Pleasant suffered minor injuries when vehicles driven by Miller and Amy Sue Rose, 32, of Mount Pleasant collided on a township route about 200 yards north of Pershing Avenue at 9:34 p.m. Feb. 12.
