Thelma A. Zentkovich

Thelma Aileen Zentkovich, 65, of Lakeland, Fla., and formerly of Shoaf, Pa., died Monday, Feb. 17, 2003, in Lakeland Regional Medical Center, Lakeland, Fla. She was born Dec. 29,1937, in Uniontown, Pa., daughter of the late Grover and Bessie Clark Swanger.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Frank Zentkovich; a son, Roy Alan Zentkovich; a brother, Robert Roy Swanger; and a sister, Mary Kathryn Swanger.

Thelma was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church of Lakeland, and was an active volunteer and avid swimmer at the Y.M.C.A.

Surviving are her five children, Franklin Zentkovich of Shoaf, Pa., Michael Zentkovich of Dover, Fla., Sgt. Samuel Zentkovich of Ft. Carson, Fountain, Colo., and Peggy Ann Wolfe and Tammy Zentkovich of Lakeland, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and her brother, Charles Ray Swanger of Smithfield, Pa.

The family will receive friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church St., Fairchance, Pa., on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003, until 9:30 a.m., when a prayer service will be held. A Mass of Christian burial follows at 10 a.m., at the Ss. Cyril & Methodius R.C. Church of Fairchance, Pa., with the Rev. Fr. David Nazimek as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. A Parish Wake Service will be held on Friday evening in the funeral home.
