CALIFORNIA UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 227 Third St. at Liberty St., will follow the following schedule for the Lenten season: Ash Wednesday, 2 p.m. open Communion, 6 p.m., dinner followed by a worship service including Communion.
Each of the remaining Wednesdays of the Lenten season (March 12, 19, 26, April 2, 9) will be celebrated with a covered dish dinner, beginning at 6 p.m. Meat rolls and beverage will be provided by the church. Guests are asked, if able, to bring a covered dish. Free-will offerings will be taken to cover dinner costs. A short inspirational program follows each dinner.
