Ewing F. Smell, 95, of McClellandtown, Pa., died Thursday, February 20, 2003 in the Uniontown Hospital. He was born September 21, 1907 in Balsinger, Fayette County, Pa., son of Clyde Smell and Mary Poundstone Smell.

Mr. Smell was a self-employed Timberman and a member of Central Christian Church in Uniontown.

His wife, Henrietta Shoemaker Smell, a daughter, Joyce Marie Smell Schreck, a son, Leslie Ray Smell, three brothers, Jake, Edwin and Frank Smell, a sister, Catherine Smell, and a grandson preceded him in death.

Surviving are a daughter, Alice Louise Smell Miller and her husband, William Miller, of McClellandtown; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a sister, Betty Harbaugh and her husband, Alvin, of Rockville, Maryland.

Friends will be received in the JEROME W. SHELL FUNERAL HOME, 164 South Mount Vernon Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday, February 24, until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with the Rev. Art Mace officiating.

Interment will follow in Church Hill Presbyterian Church Cemetery, McClellandtown, Pa.
