Mary Ercegovic Kanyok
Mary K. Ercegovic Kanyok, age 90, of Brownsville, Pa., died Friday, February 21, 2003 in the Uniontown Hospital. She was born on November 10, 1912 in Brier Hill, Pa., daughter of George Ercegovic and Stephania Brozovic Ercegovic.
Mary was a member of The Historic Church of St. Peter in Brownsville, Pa., The Confraternity of Christian Mothers, and Brownsville General Hospital Auxiliary.
Her husband, George Kanyok, daughter, Carol Kanyok, brothers, George, Ivan, Joseph, Stephen and Edward Ercegovic, sisters, Pauline Ercegovic and Catherine Zeock, and parents preceded her in death.
She is survived by four Children: Mary Jane Barkett, Uniontown, Pa., George Kanyok and wife Beverly, Brownsville, Pa., Thomas Kanyok and wife Cheryl, New Town, Pa., and Nancy Abbott and husband Darwin “Ace”, Manhattan, Kansas; seven Grandchildren: Mark Kanyok, David Kanyok and Joseph Kanyok, Laurie Kanyok and Thomas Kanyok, Aaron Abbott and Nathan Abbott; brother, Thomas Ercegovic, Euclid, Ohio; numerous Nieces and Nephews.
Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park Street, Brownsville, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. where a Prayer Service will be held Monday, February 24, at 10 a.m.
A Con-Celebrated Funeral Mass follows at 10 a.m. in The Historic Church of St. Peter in Brownsville, Pa., with her Godson, Fr. Matthew R. Brozovic, O.F.M., Rev. Fr. Vincent Gigliotti, Pastor of The Historic Church of St. Peter, and Fr. Richard A. Portacik, O.F.M., Superior of St. Anthony’s Friary, Uniontown, Pa., as Celebrants.
Interment will follow in St. Peter’s Church Cemetery.
