Peter P. Zembar

Peter P. Zembar, 84, a longtime resident of New Geneva, Pa., died Thursday, February 20, 2003 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, West Virginia. Born July 6, 1918 in Grays Landing, Pa., he was the son of the late Frank and Anna (Goode) Zembar.

He was raised a Catholic, served in the United States Army during World War II, was a Coal Miner, retired from Duquesne Light, and a member of United Mine Workers of America Local 6310 and V.F.W. Post 747 in Point Marion.

Surviving are his wife, Catherine Koshi Zembar; a daughter, Rosemary Zembar of Morgantown, W.Va.; a son, Peter P. Zembar Jr. and his wife, Debra, of Haydentown, Pa.; and one granddaughter, Rachael Renee Zembar.

He was the last of his immediate family having been predeceased by brothers, Frank, John, Andy, Steve and Charlie Zembar, and sisters, Martha Rock, Anna Zaremsky and Susie Zembar.

Friends will be received in the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday, February 24, until 11 a.m., the hour of a Blessing Service with Rev. Fr. Joseph Sredzinski officiating.

Interment follows in Cedar Grove Cemetery, New Geneva. Military Rites will be accorded at graveside by V. F. W. Post 747 and the American Legion Post 499 both of Point Marion.
