Pastor Leonard J. Skelton
Pastor Leonard J. Skelton, 85, of Uniontown, Pa., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 22, 2003 from his home. He was born January 27, 1918 in Wheeler, Fayette County, Pa., a son of Edward and Rachel Ann Alger Skelton.
Leonard was a Coal Miner who retired from J & L Steel Corporation’s Vestaburg 5 Mine. He was also a member of the United Mine Workers of America.
Leonard was a Minister and Pastor of various churches in Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
His wife, Alice McCombie Skelton, died in 2002. Also deceased are two sons: Raymond and Thomas Skelton, brothers, Richard, Lewis, Joe and Jim Skelton, and two sisters, Olla and Mary.
He is survived by his sons: Leonard Skelton, Roger Skelton and his wife, Wilma, and David Skelton and his wife, Theresa, all of Uniontown; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; one brother, Allen Skelton of Cardale, Pa.; and one sister, Pauline Russell of Uniontown.
Friends will be received in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 East Green Street, Connellsville, Pa., today from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7:30 p.m. and on Tuesday, February 25, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at which time a prayer will be held.
Interment will follow in Mount Olive Cemetery, Bullskin Township.
