Howard D. Hartley
Howard D. Hartley, 57, of Carmichaels, Pa., died Monday, February 24, 2003 at the Uniontown Hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Cumberland, Md., a son of Mary E. Barnes Hartley of Carmichaels and the late Hartford Duane Hartley.
He was a 1964 graduate of Cumberland Township High School and attended Waynesburg College and Hixson’s Floral School at Cleveland, Ohio. He resided in the Carmichaels area all of his life and was a member of the Jefferson Baptist Church. He managed Flowers by Howard since October of 1969.
His wife, Jeane M. Little Hartley, whom he married on August 12, 1972, survives. Also surviving in addition to his wife and mother are a son; a granddaughter; a sister Mrs. Ted (Marlene) DeFrank of Rices Landing, Pa.; his maternal grandmother, Lula Barnes of Carmichaels; a niece, Candace Clark; a nephew David DeFrank; a great nephew; a great niece and two aunts, Alverta Hall of San Diego, Caliif. And June Zalar of the state of Virginia.
Friends will be received at the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Martin J. Yoskovich, Funeral Director, 300 South Vine Steet (Route 88), Carmichaels, Pa. from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday and from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. the hour of service on Friday.
