Reta V. Brant, 81, of Keisterville, Pa., passed away Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003, in Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg, Pa. She was born August 16, 1921, in Bruceton Mills, W.Va., daughter of the late Samuel and Lucy Emerson Wiles.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Wallace Brant; a son, Gerald Wayne Brant; a sister, Oma H. Bryte; and two brothers, E. Grant Wiles and W. Roy Wiles.

She attended the Keisterville Union Church, and was the owner and operator of Brant’s Confectionery at Keisterville,

Surviving are two daughters and two sons, Lois Smoley and her husband, Frank and Wallace Arthur Brant and his wife, Byrdena, all of Keisterville, Romona Brand and her husband, Thomas of Elyria, Ohio, and Kenneth Brant of Perryopolis; 12 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Genevieve McElroy of Gibbons Glade.

Friends will be received in the DEARTH FUNERAL HOME, New Salem, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and until 11 a.m., on Friday, Feb. 28, 2003, the hour of service, with the Rev. Roland M. O’Brien officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery, Smock, Pa. Memorial contributions may be made to the Keisterville Union Church, the Keisterville Honor Roll Fund, or to your favorite charity.
