DUNKARD TWP. – Three Dilliner men died early Wednesday morning when the vehicle in which they were traveling left the roadway and struck a tree at a high rate of speed. State police at Waynesburg said the accident happened around 2:20 a.m. at the intersection of Bobtown Road and Dunkard Hill Road when Matthew E. Moore, 44, lost control of the vehicle.
Police said Moore and passengers Marlin B. Wade, 30, and Walter Ray Roebuck, 42, of Budapest Road, were killed on impact.
A fourth man, Steven Friend, 47, of Dilliner, was flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va., where he was treated for moderate injuries, according to police.
