Gerald N. McDiffitt Sr.
Gerald N. McDiffitt Sr., 60, of Carmichaels, Pa., died on December 29, 2002 in Greene County Memorial Hospital, Waynesburg, Pa.
He was born March 20, 1942 in Littleton, West Virginia, a son of the late Harry McDiffitt and Pansy Wade McDiffitt.
Gerald was a self-employed building contractor for the past 35 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Carmichaels and was a Pennsylvania Notary Public for 20 years.
Surviving are his wife Linda Gump McDiffitt; children, Gerald N. McDiffitt Jr., of Waynesburg, Vonnie McDiffitt Wells and husband, Tim of Weirton, W.Va., Pamela Ohler and husband Jim of Adah, Jason McDiffitt of Carmichaels, Terry McDiffitt and Steven McDiffitt of Cameron, W.Va.; nine grandchildren Angie and Stephanie Wells, Gina Jo McDiffitt and Kimberly McDiffitt, Brandon Justin and Brian Ohler, and Ashley and Roger McDiffitt; sisters and brothers Virgil McDiffitt of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Roger McDiffitt of Cameron, W.Va., Clyde McDiffitt of Wheeling, W.Va., Crystal Ziegler of Belpre, Ohio, Rose Cunningham, Daisy Wendt and Vivian McDiffitt, all of Moundsville, W.Va. and Violet Pelley of Los Angeles, Calif.
He was preceded in death by siblings Ruth Willis, Margaret Cumberledge, Carol Bonsil, Helen Chambers, Truman McDiffitt, Harry McDiffitt Jr. and Forrest McDiffitt.
Friends and family will be received today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and noon to 1 p.m., on Thursday at the PAUL M. LESAKO FUNERAL HOME INC., Carmichaels, Pa.
The funeral will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m., in the funeral home, with the Rev. Kenny Summers, officiating.
Gerald will be buried in Laurel Point Cemetery in Carmichaels.
