Retha A. Shonts
Retha A. Shonts, 68, of New London, Conn., and formerly of Warren, Pa., and California, Pa., passed away Sunday, Dec. 28, 2003, in Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London, Conn. She was born Oct. 26, 1935, in Brownsville, Pa.
Mrs. Shonts was a member of The Church of the Nazarene in California, Pa.
She was predeceased by her husband, George E. Shonts Sr.; a son, George E. Shonts Jr.; and by one brother and four sisters.
Surviving are one daughter, Brenda G. Gresh and her husband, Andrew of Bradford, R.I.; one daughter-in-law, Sally Shonts of Warren, Pa.; three grandsons, Andrew Gresh III and his wife, Christie of Warwick, R.I., Steven Gresh and his fianc?, Sara Lone of Manchester, Conn., and Zachary Shonts of Philadelphia, Pa.; one brother, Donald Conn and his wife, Virginia of Valparaiso, Ind.; one sister, Marjorie Vanatta of Washington, Pa.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in THE SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park St., Brownsville, Pa., on Friday, Jan. 2, 2004, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Barry Mohney officiating. Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park.
