Thomas A. Nagy Sr.
Thomas A. Nagy Sr., 81, of Perryopolis, Pa., died Monday, Dec. 30, 2002, at 10:10 p.m., in the Parish House of Perryopolis.
He was born Dec. 27, 1921, in Greensburg, Pa., son of the late John M. and Bertha Zuban Nagy.
Tom was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. .Army, a member of the V.F.W. Goldstar Post No. 7023 and the American Legion No. 752, both of Perryopolis.
Tom was a retired employee of Fruehauf in Uniontown.
Surviving are his wife, Phyllis Naylor Nagy; the following children, Thomas A. Nagy Jr., and wife, Fran of Perryopolis, Dennis W. Nagy and wife, Kim of Belle Vernon, Pam Nagy of Perryopolis, and Larry D. Nagy of Monessen; four grandchildren, Tom Nagy III and wife, Julie of Uniontown, Lisa Nagy of Star Junction, Jill Nagy and fianc?e, Ken Kopsack of Bentleyville, and Michael Murphy of Perryopolis; one great-granddaughter, Paige Nagy of Uniontown; and three sisters, Mrs. Mary Thumhart of New York, Mrs. Barbara Stolikar of Albany, N.Y., and Miss JoAnn Nagy of Jackson Heights, N.Y.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Frank Nagy.
Friends will be received in the BLAIR-LOWTHER FUNERAL HOME INC., 106 East Independence St., Perryopolis, today from 7 to 9 p.m., and on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where a prayer service will be held on Friday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m., in St. John The Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Perryopolis, with the Rev. Fr. John T. Euker as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Johns Cemetery, Perryopolis. A Wake Service will be held on Thursday at 8 p.m. Graveside military rites will be accorded by V.F.W. Post 7023 and American Legion No. 752 of Perryopolis.
