Home damaged State police at Belle Vernon reported that a double pane window and a living room window at the home of Leroy Roberts in Daisytown were broken on Monday between 12:01 and 10 a.m. The damage is estimated at $900.

A metal box that held collection money from St. Paul’s Church of Christ in Trauger was taken from the building between Sunday and Monday, said state police at Greensburg.

Robbery reported

City police said the BFS store at 456 Morgantown St. was robbed by two men on Tuesday around 10:30 p.m. Clerk Jeff Moats told police that two men, one wielding a silver gun, came into the store and ordered him to open the register.

One man allegedly told Moats, “Open the register or I will shoot you.”

Moats opened the register and the men took the bills in the drawer. Office Mike Garrow was able to use his canine, Sheiko, to track the scent of the alleged robbers, but the dog lost the scent near the credit union on Morgantown Street, said police. The investigation is ongoing, and police recovered the surveillance tape.

Around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, city police responded to a call along East Fayette Street after someone reported a Port-A-John was dumped in the middle of the road. Police said the roadway was cleared.

City police said Jeff Dennis reported that an unidentified man asked to see his cellular telephone along Morgantown Street Tuesday evening, then took the phone and fled.

City police said Lee Schimansky of 154 Virginia Ave. found several items of clothing in his yard on Monday around 10 a.m.

The clothes contained no identification and were taken to the station.
