William E. Dwyer
William E. Dwyer, 79, of Coal Center, Pa., died Monday, Dec. 29, 2003. He was born Feb. 29, 1924, in Phillipsburg, Pa., a son of the late Robert and Gorganna (Furlong) Dwyers.
He was a member of the American Legion JFK Post 377, California, Pa. Bill served in the Army during World War II.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Encapera Dwyer and a long time companion, Annie Barton.
Left to cherish his memory are daughters, Jean Shaporka and companion, John Kovall of Brownsville, Pa., and Robin and Lou DiPietrantonio of Dunlevy, Pa.; a sister, Bessie Hazwelbaker of Coal Center, Pa.; four grandchildren, Dawne Crawford, Danielle DiPietrantonio, Theron DiPietrantonio and Aron DiPietrantonio; and two great-grandchildren, Joel and Travis Crawford.
Friends will be received in the MARISCOTTI FUNERAL HOME INC., Anthony N. Mariscotti, Supervisor, 323 Fourth St., California, Pa., on Friday, Jan. 2, 2004 from 1 to 4 p.m. Services will be held following visitation on Friday with the Rev. J .W. Hormell officiating.
