Agnes E. Demaske Shulek, age 83, of 680 Woodside-Old Frame Road, Smithfield, PA 15478 died Wednesday, January 1, 2003 at 12:55 p.m. in Uniontown Hospital, Uniontown, Pa. She was born January 4, 1919 in Woodside, Fayette County, Pa., daughter of Joseph Demaske and Mary Richnasky Demaske.

Agnes was a Housewife and a member of Saint Cyril & Methodius Roman Catholic Church in Fairchance, Pa.

Her husband, John Shulek, a daughter, Joanne Marolt, a son, Arthur Shulek, brothers, Jake Demaske, Walter Demaske, Joseph Demaske, sister, Frances Ferranti, and parents preceded her in death.

She is survived by six children: Mary Shulek, Smithfield, Pa., John Shulek Jr. and wife, Candy, of Banning, California, Robert “Smiley” Shulek, Smithfield, Pa., Richard Shulek and wife, Nancy, Masontown, Pa., her caregiver James Shulek, Smithfield, Pa., and Betty Fike, wife of David Graves, Palm Desert, California; a sister, Marge Dobbins of Ohio; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

The Family will receive Friends at the JOHN S. MAYKUTH JR. FUNERAL HOME, corner of Church and River avenues, Masontown, Pa., today from 2 to 9 p.m. and Friday, January 3, 2003 until 10 a.m. when a Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Fr. David J. Nazimek officiating.

Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Orthodox Cemetery, Masontown, Pa.
