Connellsville man charged in attempted kidnapping
A 28-year-old Connellsville man has been charged for allegedly trying to kidnap a 22-year-old Mount Pleasant woman along Route 31 in the parking lot of the Sugar Bush Bar Tuesday at 12:05 a.m., police said. And, Stanley Allan Ohler Sr. has been charged with harassment and stalking after he allegedly followed two other women as they attempted to leave the Route 819 Wal-Mart in Mount Pleasant Township, police said.
According to a police report, Ohler followed the Mount Pleasant woman in his vehicle as she left the Route 819 Wal-Mart late Monday night.
Ohler allegedly flashed his lights at the victim and pulled his vehicle alongside of hers and attempted to get her to stop.
Later that evening, the woman told police that Ohler accosted her as she tried to enter the Sugar Bush Bar around midnight along Route 31, grabbing her by the waist and pulling her down the roadway. After a 30-second struggle, the woman escaped and fled into the bar, police said.
During the investigation into the incident, police said they found two other women, a 21-year-old Ruffsdale woman and a 28-year-old Scottdale woman, who alleged Ohler had stalked them as well.
According to the police report, Ohler was arrested and charged with criminal attempt kidnapping, stalking and harassment. He is being held in the Westmoreland County Jail awaiting arraignment.
