Man charged
State police said charges were filed before District Justice Brenda Cavalcante against Elijah Crosby, 40, of Uniontown for allegedly punching Liona Methany, 31, of Uniontown in the face along Oliphant Road Wednesday at 4:05 a.m. Police said that Crosby resisted arrest by unleashing two large dogs at state troopers and eventually had to be subdued by police. Crosby is being held in the Fayette County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bond.

Man cited
State police said a citation was filed before District Justice Brenda Cavalcante against William Lewis, 43, of Dunbar after he allegedly jumped on the shoulder of Diane Lewis, also 43 of Dunbar, during a argument along Main Street Wednesday at 2:30 a.m.

Hit-and-run investigated
State police said someone operating a 1997 Saturn crashed along Route 201 Monday.

Man stabbed
According to state police, Charles Jackson, 38, of Leisenring sustained serious injuries after Daria Bungard, 36, of Ruffsdale stabbed him in the upper thigh during an argument at a residence along Route 981 Wednesday at 7 a.m. Police said that the blade of the 8-inch kitchen knife passed completely through Jackson’s thigh. He was taken to Frick Hospital to undergo surgery for his injuries and Bungard was transported to the Westmoreland County Jail for arraignment.

Police investigate
State police are investigating the disappearance of Calvin Shawley, 23, of Ruffsdale after he did not return a red Ford Escort rental car registration EVD9454 to Enterprise Rental Car at the Pittsburgh International Airport Monday. Shawley is 5-feet 7-inches tall and weighs about 220 pounds with red hair, police said.

Vehicle recovered
State police said a blue Honda CRV owned by Pamela Taylor of Butler that had been reported stolen, was found in a heavily wooded area near High Street Dec. 8 at 11:15 a.m.

Suspected trespassing
Edward Harry Jr., 72, of Connellsville told state police that someone drove a vehicle through a field owned by him Dec. 24 at 7:30 p.m.
South Union Twp.
Man injured
According to state police, Bernard Works, 69, of Hopwood was injured when he was struck by a vehicle driven by Daniel Swartzentruber of Maryland as Works was attempting to secure a disabled vehicle onto a tow truck along Route 40 Wednesday at 6:10 a.m.
Works was treated at Uniontown Hospital for lacerations on his right leg, police said.

Vehicle stolen
Tina Lash, 31, of Connellsville told state police that someone stole a 1997 red, Dodge 4×4 sport pickup from her 310 Texas Ave. residence Dec. 24 at 7 p.m.
Brownsville
Man shot
Brownsville police officer Autumn Fike said Leroy Moody, 56, of 81 South Hill Terrace was hospitalized Thursday after he shot himself in the leg just below his knee with a .22 caliber gun.
Fike said she had “no idea” how or why Moody shot himself.
Redstone Township police, South Brownsville firefighters and Fayette EMS also responded to the 6:45 p.m. call. Fayette EMS took Moody to Brownsville General Hospital.

Vehicle overturned
Kristi Soisson of Connellsville lost control of her vehicle around a left curve on Breakneck Road and it overturned onto its roof at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, state police in Uniontown said.
Neither the driver nor the passenger, Laurie Hinton of Connellsville, was injured. Both were wearing seatbelts.

Three vehicles collide
Tony Lowry, 29, of Farmington, Russell S. Broadwater Jr., 50, of Lumberport, W.Va., and Deborah I. Miller, 37, of Fairchance were involved in an accident at 4:13 p.m. Monday on Route 40 at the Chalk Hill Plaza.
Township police said the accident tied up traffic in both directions for an hour.
All three drivers and a passenger in Broadwater’s vehicle, Russell Broadwater, 27, of Spelter, W.Va., were treated for injuries at Uniontown Hospital. All three vehicles and a concrete barrier at the entrance to the plaza were severely damaged.

Pole struck
PennDOT worker Gary S. Hunyady, 41, no address given, struck a utility pole along a state road off Route 857 while plowing snow at 9 a.m. Dec. 14, state police said. He was not injured.

Vehicles crash
Shirley A. Gribben, 65, no address given, and Andrew P. Homer, 24, no address given, were involved in an accident on Route 40 at the Super 8 Motel at 9:17 p.m. Tuesday, state police said. Homer and Pete H. Claim, 78, who was a passenger in Gribben’s car, suffered minor injuries.

Vehicle wrecked
George Teslovich, 79, of 103 Sterling Ave., Masontown, was treated at Uniontown Hospital for injuries he suffered in an accident on Route 21, west of the Springdale Golf Club, at 3:55 p.m. Christmas Day, state police said.

Vehicles crash
Diedre Lynn Ahern, 23, of Keiser, W.Va., and Betty Lou Davis, 59, of Fairchance were involved in an accident at the intersection of Morgantown Road and another state road at 10 a.m. Monday, state police said. Ahern had a passenger in her car.
No Injuries were reported.

Charges filed
Simple assault and harassment charges were filed against Gordon Anderson Jr., 19, of Smithfield for allegedly punching Amanda Hixenbaugh, 18, in the face and breaking her nose during a domestic dispute at 71/2 Rear Pittsburgh St., at 1:20 a.m. Dec. 21, state police said.
