Lucy May Wheeler Tarpley
Lucy May Wheeler Tarpley, 88, of Fairchance, Pa., died Tuesday, December 31, 2002 in Uniontown Hospital.
She was born June 23, 1914 in Batesburg, South Carolina, daughter of Jeremiah Wheeler and Lula Bougknight Wheeler.
She was predeceased by her husband, Matthew D. Tarpley Sr., one daughter, Vivian Tarpley Sellars, one son, Matthew D. Tarpley Jr., and parents.
Surviving are one daughter-in-law, Arlene Tarpley, Uniontown, Pa; one son-in-law, Eldridge Sellars, Lanham, Maryland; these in-laws: Elizabeth Williams and Ethel Tarpley both of Fairchance, Pa., Mary Helen Brooks, Dea Allen Tarpley and wife Mary, Namon Tarpley and wife Linda, and Raymond Tarpley and wife Susan, all of Lorain, Ohio, Ruth Ann Royster and husband James, Babylon, New York, Della Jacobs, Springfield, Massachusetts, Thomas Tarpley, Pittsburgh, Pa., and Shirley Tarpley, Brownsville, Pa.; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Friends will be received in MOUNT CALVARY BAPTIST CHURCH, Fairchance, Pa., on Monday, January 6, 2003, from 10 a.m. until the Service at 11 a.m. The Rev. Robert A. Crable with officiate.
Entombment follows in Chapel of Memories Mausoleum, Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa., under direction of the MURIEL E. LANTZ FUNERAL HOME, 297 East Main Street, Uniontown, Pa.
