Penn State rallies to down Buffalo, 68-60

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) – Brandon Watkins scored 14 points and Penn State came back from a double-digit deficit to win its fifth straight game, defeating Buffalo 68-60 on Saturday. Watkins led five Nittany Lions in double digits, including DeForrest Riley and Sharif Chambliss, each with 13.

Riley had five points during an 18-2 run in the first five minutes of the second half to give Penn State (5-6) a seven-point lead. Chambliss had a pair of 3-pointers during the spurt, and Buffalo got no closer than three the rest of the game.

Turner Battle had 21 points for the Bulls (3-7), who shot just 32 percent in the second half and scored just 11 points during the last 9:42.

Buffalo used a 12-0 run late in the first half to open up a 38-24 lead. Calvin Cage had two 3-pointers and eight points during that span. Penn State shot just 33 percent from the field and was out-rebounded 24-13 in the first half.
