William Leroy Byrd
William Leroy “Billy” Byrd, age 26, of Keeport Drive, Pittsburgh, Pa., died on Tuesday, December 31, 2002 as a result of an automobile accident. He was born on March 9, 1976 in Pittsburgh, Pa.
William attended school in Duquesne, Pa.
He was employed by Larouche Corporation as a Demolition Expert and enjoyed many sports, basketball being his favorite.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard O. Byrd in 1995, paternal grandfather, Christopher C. Byrd in 1979, paternal grandmother, Yvonne Byrd in 1989, maternal grandmother, Fannie Cook in 2002, and an uncle, Kerwyn D. Byrd in 1987.
He leaves to mourn his death his father, Christopher A. “Chipper” Byrd of LaBelle, Pa.; his mother, Lavonne F. Cook Byrd of Pittsburgh, Pa.; a son, Samuel Harris of McKeesport, Pa.; one sister, Christina R. Byrd, a half sister, Thelma “Peaches” Holmes, a stepbrother, Nigel Steward, a nephew, Michael Byrd, and a niece, Yasmin Byrd, all of Pittsburgh, Pa.; his maternal grandfather, Fred Cook of Wilkinsburg, Pa.; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
The Family received Friends at the LAW FUNERAL HOME, 135 Angle Street, Brownsville, Pa., on Sunday, January 5, 2003 from 6 to 9 p.m.
Funeral Service will be held today, January 6, 2003 at 12 Noon in Mount Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church, 214 Cadwallader Street, Brownsville, Pa., with Rev. Carl Kemp officiating.
