William R. Jackman
William Robert Jackman, 91, of Carmichaels, Pa., died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2003, in Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va. He was born Sept. 8, 1911, in Elco, Pa., the son of the late William Silas and Sara Jobes Jackman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel O. Waters Jackman, whom he married on Sept. 6, 1930, and who died in 1986; one brother; and two sisters.
He was a retired coal miner, and a member of Waynesburg Moose Lodge.
Surviving are 13 children, Edward A. of Orlando, Fla., William E. of Carmichaels, Arleigh (Bud) of Carmichaels, Robert A. of Manassas, Va., Betty Zagoric of Manassas, Va., Delores Johns of Cleveland, Ohio, Wilma Jean Moon of Luray, Va., Fara Lee Sylvester of Strasburg, Va., Dixie Headlee of Eighty Four, Pa., Bonnie Powell of Augusta, W.Va., Carol Courie of Carmichaels, Sharon Jetten of Winchester, Va., and Sue Fike of Waynesburg; 36 grandchildren; numerous great and great great-grandchildren; and one stepbrother, Everett Jackman and one stepsister, Gladys Jean Jackman, both of Greensboro, Pa.
Friends will be received in the PAUL M. LESAKO FUNERAL HOME INC., Carmichaels, Pa., on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m., the hour of service, with Pastor William Lusk officiating. Entombment will be in Greene County Memorial Park Mausoleum, Waynesburg.
