George “Ergie” Olesko
George “Ergie” Olesko, age 66, an eight-year resident of Mentor, Ohio, and formerly of Collinwood, Ohio, died Thursday, January 9, 2003 in Lake Hospital System of Willoughby, Ohio. He was born April 28, 1936 in Republic, Pa.
Mr. Olesko was a Machinist/Mechanic for NorthEast Regional Sewage for 18 years before he retire d in 1985.
“Ergie” was a Fisherman, Hunter, Craftsman of wood, and an Artist, but most of all he loved his garden!
He was also a member of Saint Mary of The Assumption Catholic Church in Mentor, Ohio.
A daughter, Christine Olesko, and his mother, Elsie Winterhalter Olesko, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his father, Andrew Olesko of Republic, Pa.; his wife of 47 years, Marcia (Zawacki) Olesko; daughters: Sharon and her husband, Tim Kobus, of Eastlake, Ohio, Pam and her husband, Brian Seelinger, of Kirtland Hills, Ohio, and Marti and her husband, Stuart Rayl, of Chardon, Ohio; grandchildren: Julianne Kobus, Margaret Kobus, Chelsey Seelinger, Morgan Seelinger, Mitchell Seelinger, Christine Elise Rayl, Stuart Allen Rayl, Jessica Ann Rayl, and Joseph George Rayl; sisters: Marie and her husband, Andrew Kopacko, of Republic, Pa., Arlene and her husband, Don Shipley, of Roscoe, Pa., and Kathy and her husband, Paul Dendor, of Alexandria, Virginia; brothers: Andrew “Bugsy” Olesko and his wife, Joyce, and James Olesko and his wife, Theresa, all of Adah, Pa., Albert Olesko and his wife, Joann, and Billy Olesko and his wife, Marilyn, all of Republic, Pa.
The Family will receive Friends at BRUNNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, 8466 Mentor Avenue, Mentor, Ohio 44060 today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, January 13, at 9:30 a.m. in Saint Mary of The Assumption Catholic Church, 8560 Mentor Avenue, Mentor, Ohio.
Interment will follow in All Souls Cemetery, Chardon, Ohio.
Visitation was also held Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.
