John W. Stramat
John W. Stramat, 76, a lifelong resident of Oliver, Pa., died on Friday, January 10, 2003 in Hillside Manor Personal Care Home. He was born on June 22, 1926 in Oliver, Pa., a son of Mele and Julia (Sopala) Stramat.
John was a lifelong member of St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church, Uniontown, and served his country during World War II with the United States Army.
He was a Television Repairman in the Uniontown area and had been a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 47, Uniontown.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Susan C. Stramat in 1988, a son, Joseph Stramat in 1982, a nephew, Thomas Stramat, and a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Stramat.
Surviving are a son, John M. Stramat, M.D., and his wife, Judith, and three granddaughters, Sarah Grace Stramat, Debra Marie Stramat, and Kayla Rose Stramat, all of Murraysville, Pa.; a brother, Frank Stramat of Uniontown, Pa.; two nieces: Margaret Ann Pisano and Christine Kollar; and three nephews: James Stramat, Charles Stramat and Ronald Kollar.
Friends will be received in the HAKY FUNERAL HOMES INC., A Dignity Memorial Provider, 139 West Fayette Street, Uniontown, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday, January 13, until 9:30 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.
A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 10 a.m. in St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church, North Mount Vernon Avenue, with Rev. Fr. Micah E. Kozoil as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa., where the Chaplain and Commander of Uniontown V.F.W. Post 47 will conduct Military Honors.
Visitation was also held Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.
