Mary Anna Meosky Durst
Mary Anna Meosky Durst, age 82, of Hopwood, Pa., passed away Thursday, January 9, 2003 at her home after a long illness. She was born January 31, 1920 in Oliphant Furnace, Fayette County, Pa., daughter of the late Andrew John and Elizabeth Kathryn Ference Meosky.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by four brothers, Paul, Andrew, Edwin and Joseph Meosky.
She was a member of St. John The Evangelist Roman Catholic Church and also the Dartball League at Hopwood United Methodist Church.
Mary graduated from Georges High School in the Class of 1937.
Mary is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Darrell D. Durst Sr.; eight children: Darrell D. Durst Jr. and wife, Janie, of Footedale, Pa., Delores Jean Conklin and husband, Walter, of Jersey City, New Jersey, Marilyn Williams and husband, Dale, of Hopwood, Pa., Rita Denny and husband, Robert, of Naples Florida, Douglas J. Durst and fiancee, Monica Nalbone, of Uniontown, Pa., Mary Ann Richezza and husband, Richard, of Hopwood, Renee Banko and husband, Edward, of Masontown, Pa., Lonnie Durst of Lemont Furnace, Pa., and fiancee, Kim Trump, of Connellsville, Pa.; 17 grandchildren: three great grandchildren; four sisters and three brothers: Elizabeth Fetcho of Brownfield, Pa., Margaret Franko of Royal, Pa., Pete Meosky and wife, Musa, of New Jersey, John Meosky and wife, Blanche, of Brownfield, Josephine Appleman of Burwick, Pa., Bertha Bobak and husband, John, of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Edward Meosky and wife, Sally, of Elyria, Ohio.
Friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, Hopwood, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday, January 13, until 9 a.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 9:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Old Walnut Hill Road, Uniontown (due to restoration work in St. John’s Church) with Rev. Fr. William J. Kiel as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill.
Parish Wake Service will be held today at 3 p.m.
