Probation office takes action
The Fayette County probation office has asked that a 28-year-old man accused of attempting to kidnap a woman last month be removed from his court-ordered probationary program. According the filing, Stanley Allan Ohler Sr. violated conditions of his intermediate punishment on a drunken-driving charge in Fayette County when he allegedly tried to kidnap a 22-year-old woman he allegedly followed from the Wal-Mart store in East Huntingdon Township, Westmoreland County, on Dec. 31. State police filed the charges.
The request to remove Ohler from the intermediate punishment program also alleges he failed to visit with his probation officer in November and December, has not paid court costs and has not attended drug and alcohol classes. All were ordered as part of his acceptance into the program.
Ohler’s term on intermediate punishment, a probationary-type program, was part of his guilty plea to charges of driving under the influence of alcohol during 2001.
He was sentenced to 23 months’ intermediate punishment in May 2001.
Ohler will be brought back to the Fayette County Prison and be subject to a hearing before Judge John F. Wagner Jr. later this month.
