Anna Margaret (Burke) Phillips, 79, of Uniontown, Pa., formerly of Ecourse, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2003 while on vacation with her late nephew James Susano’s wife Shirley and her great niece Mary Jo Chisler at Martin Memorial Medical Center in Stuart, Florida. She was born April 6, 1923 in Uniontown, Pa., daughter of the late John and Kathryn (Nolan) Burke.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Frank J. Phillips; three brothers, James Burke, Martin Burke and Joseph Burke who died serving in World War II and two sisters, Mary Burke Susano and Frances (Honey) Burke. She was the last of her immediate family.

Anna spent most of her life in Ecourse, Michigan and was a phone operator with Michigan Bell until her retirement. She attended North and South Union High School.

She is survived by many special nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOMES, INC., AT SYLVAN HEIGHTS CEMETERY, A Dignity Memorial Provider, 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, Pa. today from 6 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Therese Roman Catholic Church with Father Kenneth Zaccagnini as Celebrant.

Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa.
