Nursing program offered The Fayette County Vocational-Technical School along with Goodwill Industries of Fayette County will offer a certified nursing assistant program funded by the Workforce Investment Board.
This program will offer individuals between the ages of 17 and 21 the opportunity to receive 180 hours of classroom and 56 hours of clinical instruction to become a certified nursing assistant. The program is scheduled to begin on Feb. 25 and will last for 10 weeks. Classes will be held Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 2:30 to 7:30 p.m. Clinical experience will be offered from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays.

Coupon booklets available
The Uniontown Hospital Auxiliary will be selling the 2003 Restaurant Coupon Booklets in the hospital’s Main Lobby from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
The 2003 Restaurant Coupon Booklet features discounts at 43 area restaurants and are available for $20 each.
BGH offers program
Brownsville General Hospital will offer a Brown Bag Luncheon Series entitled “Wound Healing through Nutrition,” at noon today in the hospital’s Board Room. For more information, call 724-785-1811.
BGH receives grant
Brownsville General Hospital is the recipient of a $2,500 grant from the Community Foundation of Fayette County. The grant will be utilized to purchase materials to enhance the diabetes self-management training program based at the hospital.
The diabetes education program at BGH has been awarded a certificate of recognition from the American Diabetes Association (ADA) for meeting the national standards for diabetes self-management education.
