Local man held for court on assault charges
William H. Hart, 37, of 34 Coffey St., Uniontown, was ordered held for court on charges alleging that he struck Shaun Davis of Uniontown in the face with a metal club on Sept. 14, 2002. District Justice Mark Blair ordered all charges filed against Hart by Uniontown police held for court at a preliminary hearing Monday. The charges are aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment. The case will now be forwarded to Common Pleas Court in Fayette County.
According to an affidavit filed by city police, Davis was involved in a fight with several juveniles in a vacant lot next to 45 Lenox St. at 8 p.m.
During the fight, Hart allegedly struck Davis in the face with a metal club. Police said Davis’ mouth was swollen and bleeding and he had other facial trauma. He was treated at Uniontown Hospital. Hart is free on bond.
