Adolphus S. Abbey
Adolphus “Doc” S. Abbey, 95, of Uniontown, Pa., died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2003, in Uniontown Hospital. He was born April 1, 1907, in Ohiopyle, Pa., son of the late Gottleib Abbey and Nancy Jane “Annie” Corristan Abbey.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Rose Lancaster Abbey; three sisters, Helen R. Abbey, Goldie Phillips Heath and Anna Mae Smith; and two brothers, Joseph J. Abbey and Charles H. Abbey.
Surviving are a brother, John Wayne Abbey of Uniontown; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
“Doc” was a self-employed interior and exterior painter for over 50 years.
Friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, Hopwood, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Friday until 11 a.m., the hour of the service, with the Rev. Roger Howard officiating. Interment will follow in Thomas Cemetery, Fearer Road, Markleysburg.
