Drug-related charges bound over to court
BULLSKIN TWP. – Drug-related charges filed against a Connellsville man by police will be heard in Fayette County Court. David J. Renze, 50, of 411 E. Gibson Ave. is charged with two counts of drug possession, possession with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia, stemming from a Jan. 25, 2002, incident. District Justice Robert Breakiron ruled Tuesday following a preliminary hearing that the felony charges would be bound over for court.
According to the complaint filed by Connellsville police, while executing a search warrant at Renze’s residence, members of the Fayette County Drug Task Force seized a scale, baggies, 25 individually wrapped packages of suspected cocaine and a bag containing suspected marijuana.
Police said analysis completed at the Pennsylvania state police criminal laboratory indicated that Renze had 31 grams of cocaine and 6.3 grams of marijuana.
The street value of the cocaine was estimated at $3,100.
Renze remains free on a $5,000 straight cash bond.
In an unrelated case, Breakiron authorized drug-related and retail theft charges lodged against a Dunbar man to be waived to court.
Raymond W. Wingrove, 45, of 57 Connellsville St., waived his right to a scheduled preliminary hearing on the charges filed by Connellsville police.
According to the police complaint, Wingrove was stopped by a Shop ‘N Save employee after he was spotted placing two whole filet mignon steaks in his pants and attempting to leave the store on Oct. 17. Wingrove admitted to taking the steaks that he planned to trade for heroin, said police.
Wingrove was also found to be in possession of a used syringe and two spoons, with one found to have heroin residue, said police.
Wingrove remains free on a $10,000 percentage bond.
