Burkett-Barber
Hopwood United Methodist Church was the setting for the Dec. 7 marriage of Danette L. Barber and Matthew S. Burkett. The Rev. Stringfellow heard the exchange of vows.
The bride is the daughter of Georgiann Ritenour of Hopwood and David Barber of Smithfield.
The bridegroom is the son of Eleanor and Bob Burkett of Addison.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
Susan Sapp was matron of honor. Mindy Barber was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Anita Jones, Catina Hall and Crissy Lewis. Kali and Paige Fronczek, daughters of the bride, were flower girls.
Best man was Jason Lytle. Groomsmen were Christian Holliday, Robert King III, Rob Burkett and Scott Burkett. Nick Burkett was ring bearer.
A reception was held at the Uniontown Firemen’s Social Hall.
The bride is a 1990 graduate of Tri-Valley High School and a 1996 graduate of Fayette Area Vo-Tech School’s licensed practical nursing program. She is attending the nursing program at Penn State Fayette and is also employed at Cherry Tree Nursing Center.
The bridegroom is a 1995 graduate of Turkeyfoot Valley High School and a 1998 graduate of Waynesburg College with a bachelor of science degree in nursing and psychology. He also earned a master of science degree from Penn State. He is employed at Wedgewood Family Practice in Morgantown as a family nurse practitioner.
The newlyweds are residing in Hopwood.
