Clara Smith Scotch
Clara C. Smith Scotch, 82, of California, Pa., died Sunday, January 19, 2003 in Mount Macrina Manor, Uniontown, Pa. She was born August 19, 1920 in Rivesville, West Virginia, daughter of Charles Smith and Sophia Godowska Smith.
Clara was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church in California, Pa., the Ladies Guild of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Center in the Woods, Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, and The Basketweavers.
Her husband, Frank Scotch, died February 16, 1995. Also deceased are one sister, Margaret Medica, one brother, Charles Smith, and her parents.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Charles Sherbondy of Broomfield, Colorado; a sister, Frances Gula of Pittsburgh, Pa.; grandson, Charles J. Sherbondy III and wife, Catherine, of Ruffsdale, Pa.; and great grandchildren: Charles J. Sherbondy IV and Laura M. Sherbondy.
Friends will be received in the MARISCOTTI FUNERAL HOME INC., Anthony N. Mariscotti, Supervisor, 323 Fourth Street, California, Pa., on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday, January 23, until 9:30 a.m. when a Blessing Service will be held.
A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 10 a.m. in St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church, California, Pa., with Rev. Fr. Mark Skertich as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
