Elizabeth E. Lee Thomas
Elizabeth E. Lee “Libby” Thomas, 79, of Washington, D.C., and formerly of Uniontown, Pa., died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003, in Washington, D.C.
She was born Oct. 15, 1923, in Uniontown, Pa., a daughter of the late Calvin Lee and Anna Green Lee.
While in Uniontown, “Libby”, as everyone called her, worked in the Veterans’ office, and was a member of John Wesley A.M.E. Zion Church, where she held many offices. After relocating to the D.C. area, she became affiliated with the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, and many of its Boards and Auxiliaries.
Surviving are three children, Marilyn Thomas Marshall and husband, James, Maureen Thomas Gramby and Leslie Thomas and his wife, Velma all of Washington, D.C.; six grandchildren, Scott, Kimberly, Andrew, Shelley, Jacques and Lesli; seven great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; three brothers, Kenneth Lee of Smock, Pa., William Morris Lee of Leckrone, Pa., and Clarence (Putty) Lee of Seat Pleasant, Md.; and nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Friends will be received in the MURIEL E. LANTZ FUNERAL HOME, 297 East Main St., Uniontown, Pa., on Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, from 10 to 1 p.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. James Morris Lee officiating. Interment will follow in Thomas Cemetery, Hopwood, Pa.
