Paul H. Durda
Paul H. Durda, 74, of Brownsville, Pa., died Monday, Jan. 20, 2003, after a lingering illness.
He was born Oct. 19, 1928, in Captana, W.Va., son of the late Metro and Katie Yaklovesky Durda.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Durda.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church of Brownsville, Pa., and was employed by the Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company, for 34 years.
Paul was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Irene Matty Durda; three daughters, Kate Durda of Charlotte, Mich., Lori Durda Wizdo and her husband, Allen Wizdo of Conshohocken, Pa., and Judi Durda and her husband, James Lape of Annapolis, Md.; two precious grandchildren, Ethan James Lape and Zoe Katherine Lape; a sister, Helen Turner of Las Vegas, Nev.; two brothers, Joseph Durda of Fort Washington, Md., and Michael Durda of Greensburg, Pa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNRAL HOME, 135 Park St., Brownsville, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m., where a prayer service will be held on Friday at 10 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m., in St. Mary’s R.C. Church, Brownsville, Pa., with the Rev. James Petrovsky as celebrant. Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park. St. Mary’s Christian Mothers and Catholic Daughters of Americus will recite the Rosary at 7 p.m., today.
