Doris M. Hatcher, 82, of Whitsett, Pa., died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003, in Uniontown Hospital, Uniontown, Pa.

She was born May 22, 1920, in Zuni, Va., daughter of the late Winfred Diggs and Louvinia Rose Diggs.

She was a member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church of Whitsett.

Surviving are her husband, John T. Hatcher Sr.; the following children, John Hatcher Jr., and Ruth Wilson and husband, Herman, all of Pittsburgh, Pa., Marlon Hatcher, Shirley Hatcher and Leroy Hatcher and wife, Louvinia, all of Cleveland, Ohio, the Rev. Simon Hatcher and wife, Claudette of Connellsville, Pa., Allen Hatcher and wife, Nancy and Theresa Zachery, all of Tennessee, Elaine Hatcher and Gerry of Whitsett, Celeste Bey of New Kensington, Pa., Bari Lynn Hatcher of Uniontown, Pa., and Estelle Davis and husband, Gerald of Grindstone, Pa.; 21 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and the following brothers and sisters, Winfred Diggs of California, John Diggs of Chicago, Lloyd Diggs of Monessen, Elizabeth Jefferson and husband, Thomas, Ruth Jefferson and husband, Raymond and Reseal Diggs and Patty, all of New Kensington, and Queen Diggs of Whitsett.

Friends will be received in the PILGRIM REST BAPTIST CHURCH, today from 5 to 9 p.m., where services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m., with her son, the Rev .Simon Hatcher officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the MURIEL E. LANTZ FUNERAL HOME, 297 East Main St., Uniontown, Pa.
