James L. Ewing
James “Mousie” L. Ewing, 76, of Hopwood, Pa., passed away Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003, in I.H.S. of Greensburg.
He was born Oct. 12, 1926, in Boliver, Pa., son of the late Charles and Mary Wise Palmer.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a son, Thomas Ewing.
Surviving are his wife, Anne Neill Ewing; three children, Nancy Ewing and husband, Dennis Warheit of Binghamton, N.Y., Tim Ewing and wife, Robin of Markleysburg, and David E. Ewing and wife, Joan of Uniontown; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Palmer of Kentwood, Mich., and Frederick Palmer of Ridgecrest, Calif.; and a daughter-in-law, Francine Ewing of Leckrone.
Mousie was a retired electrician with over 50 years of service with I.B.E.W. Local No. 5, Pittsburgh.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Marines, and was a life member of the AMVETS Post No. 103 of Hopwood, V.F.W. Post No. 47 of Uniontown, and the Hutchinson Sportsmen’s Club.
Friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, Hopwood, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday until 11 a.m., the hour of the service, with the Rev. Roger Howard officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. View Memorial Cemetery.
AMVETS Post No. 103 will accord military services at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the AMVETS Post No. 103 Scholarship Fund, Hopwood, PA 15445.
