Laurine C. Friend
Laurine Claudine Friend, a guest of Mifflin Care Center, Mansfield, Ohio, formerly of Smithfield, Pa., died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003, in Mansfield, Ohio.
She was born March 21, 1912, in Friendsville, Md., daughter of the now late Harry and Adel Friend.
She was a member of the Apostolic faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Friend, who died in 1963; one daughter, Buleah Friend; a granddaughter, Dorothy Marie Friend; a second granddaughter, also Dorothy Marie Friend; and four brothers, Pete, John, Bob and Jake Friend.
Surviving are the following children, Frank Friend Sr., and wife, Carrie of Smithfield, Pa., Glenda Romano and husband, Pete of the State of California, Ralph Friend and wife, Nellie of Gans, Pa., and David Friend and wife, Polly of Mansfield, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; and the following brothers and sisters, Thomas Friend of Uniontown, Harry Friend of Myersdale, Pa., Richard Friend of Myersdale, Pa., Betty Ream of Winter Haven, Fla., Evelyn Fike of Chesterton, Ind., and Helen Nervick of Chesterton, Ind.
Friends will be received in the JOHN F. BROWNFIELD FUNERAL HOME OF SMITHFIELD, PA, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday at 11 a.m., the hour of service, in the funeral home, with the Rev. Mary Shultz and the Rev. Joann Able officiating. Interment will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery.
